I remember going to the Botanical Gardens as a kid and thinking it was completely normal and it was a pretty cool place. However, last summer my girlfriend and I decided to go because it would be fun. So I picked her up and we drove about thirty minutes to the Botanical Gardens right by university circle near downtown Cleveland. Next thing I know I’m walking up to the building and just feeling a sense of peace in the air. I was very excited that I got the opportunity to come back because I hadn’t been there in a while. Once we pay and get inside we start walking toward the inner garden where all of the animals are. We enter and I get this warm moist breeze all over my body and just remember my mood shifting from good to great. Then we go upstairs to the balcony overlooking the entire place with ropes and wood bridges. All of a sudden I walk past this tree and then I get a giant face of moist air. My face turns from a happy smile to a grin because how beautiful it is. I’m now thinking why I haven’t gone here in a while, because this is so beautiful and such an amazing place. The butterflies were everywhere and floating around from one beautiful flower to another. There were a colony of ants making a nest while crawling up and down a big tree that reminded me of a rainforest. Once we got back down to the lower level I was walking and then I turn a corner and see a waterfall inside the building. It was so cool and of course I threw water on my girlfriend because it was the funny thing to do. Once I pass the waterfall I stay still and I notice a butterfly fly onto my shoulder and then fly off. This place was amazing, incredible and most of all made me so happy. Once we got done inside we still had to see the outside garden. I was already in awe that I hadn’t been to this place in a while. I felt like I was exploring a whole new world and I was the only one there exploring it. Every time I think of this story it just makes me smile cause of how much of a happy moment it was in my life.
